If you’re looking for a fun spot on the beach with a GREAT view of the city, where you can wear your swimsuit and drink beer and cocktails while listening to a cover band, Castaways is the place to be.

It’s located on North Avenue Beach, and its unmistakable shape seems to scream Summer In Chicago. Castaways Bar & Grill is on the “upper deck”. It has appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and desserts. Cocktails are actually decently priced, at $6 - $7.75, especially for a spot with no competition. Beer’s $4 for 16oz domestic draft, and $5 for domestic cans. (Of course, being on the beach and all, bottled water is $3!) Belowdecks you can get ice cream and burgers at walk-up stands.
